Travis Berryhill set for “Totally Wingless Saturday” at Placerville Speedway
By Gary Thomas
Placerville, CA – April 8, 2008…Midget racer Travis Berryhill is getting
geared up for this Saturday's Bay Cities Racing Association event at the
Placerville Speedway, which is being billed as “Totally Wingless
Saturday.” With the weather expected to warm up this weekend Berryhill is
hoping to put his mount up front at the John Padjen Motorsports track known
for its distinctive red clay.
The American Canyon, CA driver is set for what looks to be an exciting
season of racing competition as he will be moving back to Indy to try and
further his racing career. Berryhill will be running various events around
the Indiana area including the full Indiana Midget Week sanctioned by the
United States Auto Club.
In addition to that however, he is still planning to try and compete in as
many dirt events in California as possible, which includes this Saturday’s
event at the high-banked Placerville Speedway. The red clay quarter-mile
lends itself well for exciting midget racing and it should be an action
packed evening of competition that will also feature the midget lites and
wingless spec sprints on the same card. Gates open up at 5pm Saturday with
qualifying scheduled for around 6:30. The track is located at the El Dorado
County Fairgrounds in Placerville.
Later on in the season Berryhill is also planning to run the huge event that
is tentatively scheduled for Labor Day weekend at the Calistoga Speedway,
located at the Napa County Fairgrounds. The word has been said that a
meeting is scheduled for this week to determine if the event will happen and
most are hoping and praying that it will. If the show happens Berryhill
plans to borrow a good bullet to help him get down the long straight-aways
at the half-mile speed-plant.
Berryhill would like to thank Vallejo Coin Exchange, Red Line Oil, Impact
Racing Products and all of his sponsors for their continued support. He
would also like to give special thanks to Bob Rosen & Glen Voyles. For more
