The 2008 Chili Bowl is over, and now it's time to focus on the 2008 midget season.  Travis' trip wasn't as successful as hoped, with engine problem shortening his qualifying night to a couple short laps.

A broken lifter dropped the engine to 3 cylinders only two laps in to his eight lap heat race on Friday night, forcing him to pull off the track and settle for a disappointing eighth place finish.  Travis and his crew grabbed the wrenches, but there wasn't enough time before the last chance races to make the field again, so they instead watched the rest of the night from the sidelines.

On Saturday, with a full day of racing action starting at noon, Travis and the crew hit the Expo Center early and got the engine running and tuned in plenty of time to make  the early races, where Travis was set to start well back in the "I" main as a result of the disappointing finish from the night before.

Lined up in the back of the field for the 10 lap race, Travis quickly started passing cars.  High, low and at times splitting other cars, he made it to second place in the short 10 lap race, good enough to to transfer to the "H" race.

Again starting well in the back of the 10 lap race, Travis started passing cars both high and low, but 10 laps just wasn't enough time to make a transfer position, and he had to settle for a tenth place finish.  He did manage to outrun some of the high-dollar, high profile teams such as Cruz Pedragon and Gary Scelzi, but the 2008 Chili Bowl was now over for Travis.

Travis would like to thank his sponsors:  Vallejo Coin Exchange, Impact! Racing Products, Red Line Oil, Glen Voyles and Rosen Motorsports, Weld Wheels, Dan Smith and Family.  He also extends his appreciation to his mom Dianne, dad Jim, and to his entire crew for their hard work during the entire week in Tulsa.

Now it's time to look ahead at what should be a very successful 2008 campaign.  It is not too late to get your local sponsorship on the car for upcoming season.
